As the story goes with many koi enthusiasts it was/is the PASSION for koi keeping that has lead me up to this point in my life.  My interest in koi began at age 12 with a 29 gallon fish tank given to me by my grandfather.  Over the next six years, I convinced my father to help build two 300 gallon and one 600 gallon pond as I established my own koi business supplying local pet stores.

After college, and the necessary preparations to enter medical school, I began interviewing for positions.  Before making my final decision my wife told me, “if you aren’t 100% sure that you want to be a doctor you better not do it because I don’t want to go through all of the headaches…you should do what you have Passion for.”  I knew; 2 months later we packed up and moved back home to Hawaii.

Back in Hawaii, I expanded my past operation 100 fold and took on a business partner, Joshua Hikida.  Since September 2005, We've made several koi buying trips to Japan and have established Click for an Image Zoom (Pops up into a new window)very good relationships with Momotaro, Oomo, Marusho, Kaneko, Kase/Aoki, Torazo, Yagenji, Maruyo (Isa), and soon with Maruyama, Omosako, Sakuma, and Ogawa.  Full operation will begin in June 2006 with an expansion of four 25,000 gallon holding ponds, eight 3000 gallon stock ponds, and ten 2000 gallon quarantine ponds.  We currently use, and are one of only two authorized dealers for, the premier Bakki Shower filtration system from Momotaro koi farm.

With our strategic location here in Hawaii we can easily purchase and quarantine Koi from Japan, which will prepare them for shipment to any location.  This has worked out so well and the demand for these quality high grade koi has grown so much, we have teamed up with Nixon Fish Farm to assist in holding and distributing some of the most sought after koi on the market.  With the acres of mud ponds and clear viewing tanks available at Nixon's we are sure you will be able to find the ideal koi for your needs.  In addition you will be able to see thousands of water plants, of many varieties, including the magnificent Lotus. The buying experience itself will be a day to remember and should provide you and your family with years of enjoyment.
